China Outstanding Young Scholars Water Industry Tour – Yixing Stop
On June 26,2026, the "2026 Water Industry Outstanding Young Scholars China Tour – Yixing Stop Special Event," hosted by the Water Supply and Drainage Magazine and co-organized by flangco Water Services (Group) Co., Ltd., and undertaken by Asia-Pacific Construction Technology Information Research Institute Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Yixing, the Capital of Pottery.

On June 26,2026, the "2026 Water Industry Outstanding Young Scholars China Tour – Yixing Stop Special Event," hosted by the Water Supply and Drainage Magazine and co-organized by flangco Water Services (Group) Co., Ltd., and undertaken by Asia-Pacific Construction Technology Information Research Institute Co., Ltd., was successfully held in Yixing, the Capital of Pottery.
The event was attended by industry experts such as Song Lanhe, Supervisor-General of the China Urban Water Supply and Drainage Association; Professor Xu Bin, Party Secretary of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Tongji University; Hou Peiqiang, Editor-in-Chief of the journal *Water Supply and Drainage*; as well as key personnel from water utilities and young technical professionals.

Rooted in industry transformation Joint exploration of high-quality water supply solutions
The water utilities sector has now entered a new phase of transformation and upgrading. The revised Water Supply Regulations officially came into force on June 1; as a result, public water demand has evolved from simply having access to basic water supply to seeking high-quality direct drinking water, reliable water transmission and distribution systems, and peace of mind regarding water safety – making high-quality water supply the core growth area for urban water utilities development.

Wang Ruming, General Manager of flangco Water Services, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He emphasized that flangco Water Services is aligned with China's national "Dual Carbon" strategy and industry regulatory frameworks, having established a clear technological roadmap: by leveraging its self-developed Digital and Intelligent Water Supply Management System, the company helps water utilities achieve energy savings and reduced consumption in secondary water supply systems; through collaboration with Tongji University to develop innovative disinfection and antibacterial technologies, it optimizes end-user water quality and drinking water taste; and by providing complete sets of smart equipment, integrated solutions, and full-lifecycle operation and maintenance services, it supports the quality improvement and modernization of both urban and rural water supply systems. flangco Water Services is committed to partnering with its industry peers to jointly advance the development of high-quality water supply services.
02 Topic Discussion Multidimensional intersection of policy and technological practices
This event features four thematic discussion sessions, covering the full-process technical assurance for high-quality water supply, policy support and reflections, operational and maintenance practices, and the integrated development of the industry.
Topic 1 | End-to-End Technical Support
The meeting was chaired by Professor Xu Bin, Party Secretary of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Tongji University. The participating experts held discussions focusing on four key areas: innovative green and low-carbon water purification technologies for water treatment plants; enhancing the resilience of water supply networks and ensuring water quality; ensuring safety and promoting energy efficiency and carbon reduction throughout the entire lifecycle of secondary water supply systems; and optimizing the taste of high-quality drinking water. Professor Xu Bin emphasized that the core of high-quality drinking water lies in "exceeding national standards, offering superior sensory characteristics, and demonstrating higher chemical safety," noting that network infrastructure upgrades and secondary water supply system reliability represent the "most critical areas" for achieving high-quality water supply.
The flangco Water Technology team participated throughout the entire exchange process and shared their innovative implementation of an energy-saving and consumption-reduction system for urban water supply regulation and pressurization pump sets.
Topic 2 | Policy Support and Reflections
The meeting was presided over by Song Lanhe, Supervisor-General of the China Urban Water Supply and Drainage Association. As an important participant in the drafting of the *Water Supply Regulations*, Supervisor-General Song Lanhe provided a systematic interpretation of the legislative logic and core requirements of the newly revised *Water Supply Regulations*, analyzed practical case studies from various regions, and pointed out that these Regulations mark the first time that both urban water supply and large-scale rural water supply have been incorporated into unified management – signaling that the water supply sector has entered a new phase of rule-of-law-based, high-quality development. The participating experts engaged in forward-looking discussions on the technological innovation framework and development pathways for high-quality water supply during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.
Topic 3 | High-Quality Water Supply Operation and Maintenance Practices
The event was chaired by Dong Xiaolei, Manager of the Technology Research and Development Department at Suzhou Wuzhong Water Supply Co., Ltd. The participating representatives engaged in in-depth technical exchanges focusing on three core areas: comprehensive assurance of high-quality water supply throughout the entire process, innovative exploration and implementation of water supply models, and the application of smart water management solutions. The on-site interactive discussions continued throughout the event, providing practical references for addressing operational and maintenance challenges within the industry.
Topic 4 | Industrial Integration and Development
At the conference on industrial integration, Hou Peiqiang, Editor-in-Chief of *Water Supply and Drainage*, chaired the session. The participating delegates engaged in open discussions covering various topics—including the alignment of scenario-specific demands and capabilities across upstream and downstream industrial chains; the compilation of a thematic monograph titled "Research and Practice on High-Quality Water Supply"; plans for the follow-up implementation of high-quality water supply-themed events; and the establishment of the High-Quality Water Supply Expert Committee for *Water Supply and Drainage*—resulting in multiple collaborative agreements.
03 Field research Step into the flangco Smart Manufacturing Base
Following the seminar session, all participating guests conducted an on-site inspection at the flangco Water Treatment Production Base. Industry experts gained an in-depth understanding of flangco's cutting-edge R&D achievements in areas such as digital and intelligent energy-saving equipment, core water quality sterilization technologies, and smart water supply systems. flangco's water treatment technology team provided an on-site demonstration of product manufacturing processes, technical advantages, and real-world application scenarios, and engaged in thorough discussions with industry experts and young key personnel regarding technical challenges and innovative approaches.
