The renovation of secondary water supply pump stations in aging residential communities within Tongzhou District, Nantong City – designated as a key public welfare water supply quality improvement project – aims to bridge the "last mile" in residential water supply access. In alignment with the government's water supply upgrade planning requirements and addressing the existing challenges associated with these aging pump stations, flangco leveraged the advantages of BIM-driven digital design and factory-based prefabrication manufacturing to systematically optimize the regional water supply service system through precision renovation, intelligent upgrading, and a sustainable operation and maintenance model.

Establish a standardized smart pump station

Before renovation: The existing pump station had been in operation for an extended period, with severely aged equipment and inadequate overall operational and maintenance conditions. During peak water usage periods, the water pressure at high-rise buildings was insufficient, and the water supply stability was poor; pipeline corrosion posed a risk of leakage, creating potential for secondary water pollution. The pump station and equipment room environment was rudimentary and damp, lacking intelligent monitoring and control facilities; routine maintenance and operations relied on manual inspections, resulting in low efficiency and failing to meet the requirements for standardized, smart, and safe water supply systems.
Taking into account actual on-site operating conditions and the long-term water management requirements, flangco has implemented a customized integrated upgrade solution tailored to local circumstances, optimizing and enhancing the system across three key areas: energy conservation and consumption reduction, smart security and management systems, and the creation of a standardized environment.
1/Update energy-saving complete equipment sets . Stable water supply – reduce costs and enhance efficiency
The project involves the comprehensive replacement of aging, high-energy-consuming pump sets and electrical control systems with next-generation energy-efficient variable-frequency water supply units, stainless steel corrosion-resistant piping, and corresponding valves. By employing BIM-based digital design, the pipeline and equipment layouts were optimized in advance to mitigate potential construction risks such as pipeline conflicts and spatial constraints. The entire equipment set is manufactured in an integrated, prefabricated manner at the workshop, which significantly reduces on-site construction workload, enhances the precision of equipment and pipeline assembly, and shortens the overall construction timeline. This approach not only lowers energy consumption and minimizes pipeline leakage at the source—thereby reducing long-term operation and maintenance costs—but also ensures a superior water supply experience for residents while meeting the requirements for green, low-carbon operations.


2/ Anquan Intelligent Integrated Water Management System24/7 water safety protection
The pump room is equipped with security systems—including high-definition surveillance cameras, intrusion alarms, water leakage detectors, and smoke detectors—as well as online water quality monitoring equipment to monitor key water quality parameters such as turbidity and residual chlorine in real time. All data is centrally integrated into the Tongzhou District Water Resources Smart Platform, enabling remote visual management. In the event of equipment failure, abnormal water pressure, or water accumulation in the equipment room, the system automatically sends out an alert, significantly reducing emergency response time and facilitating centralized, digital, and precision management across multiple sites.



3/Pump Room Environmental Standardization UpgradeExtend equipment service life
The pump house's foundational infrastructure was comprehensively upgraded, with standardized installation of exhaust fans and industrial dehumidifiers, as well as standardized drainage, moisture-proofing, and sound insulation facilities. Professional maintenance and cleaning tools were fully provided, effectively addressing the previous suboptimal operating conditions characterized by high humidity, water accumulation, and poor ventilation. This dry and stable operating environment effectively mitigates corrosion and wear on pipelines and pump units, reduces the likelihood of equipment failure, and establishes a solid hardware foundation for long-term, stable water supply.
